SGRIPTURE READING
ROMANS 13:11-14
CAMPMEETING 2005
Our camp meeting theme this year is Standing on the Promises, this is a song we used to sing in our Church, Standing on the Promises. Let see how does it go? “Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living word of God, I shall prevail, Standing on the Promises of God!
PREACHERS—CHURCH LEADERS
I believe that it would be sad indeed that these young people would miss out on the promises simply because of unbelief. Our young people are crying out for direction and leadership that will not deny God’s words, but if we will supply a powerful, anointed direction for them, then they would stay grounded in the Lord. These young people are hungry and thirsting for more of God. They are looking for clear answers and they cannot find it in a weak, anemic, godless congregation. Why are we surprised when they get discouraged, doubting and in despair, and then turn to the world for entertainment?
This could be the last generation for us to reach. Preachers, teachers, let us give them the direction that will lead them to Jesus Christ and His promises. He wants everybody, inside the Church and out of it to be motivated. It is our responsibility as preachers and teachers to encourage this generation to be able to receive the promises of God. Many churches try to accommodate themselves to the current fads in the world. The effort is to attract the youth through entertainment rather than to offer them a challenge to take up the cross and follow Jesus.
IS THIS WHAT YOUNG PEOPLE ARE ASKING FOR?
I wish to thank Brother Moore for inviting me to bring the message here tonight. The Lord has laid it upon my heart to speak about the times we live in.
Two years ago, you remember I challenged you to start a revolution on behalf of Jesus Christ, to join the Army of God. Just to try to win 1 person to Christ, to commit your life in winning souls for Christ. It all starts with You. My prayers are that you still have that commitment.
LET US PRAY
Fulfill now, O Lord, we beseech thee, thy gracious promise that thy word shall no return unto thee empty, but shall accomplish that which thou have intended in the things for which thou hast sent it; for thy name sake amen.
